I am a physician. I received a letter from the Department of Health (DOH) indicating it has issued an emergency order to suspend my license to practice medicine. What should I do?

Speaker 1: This is an extremely serious matter. It will mean that this is a public record that’s available to anyone on the Internet to see, and it’s probably published in newspaper and other media. It also means you cannot work as a physician while this order is in effect. You should immediately contact an experienced health law attorney who has significant experience in defending doctors in such situations, and take his advice, or her advice. An appeal might be in order, or requesting an expedited hearing might be in order. The details of your case need to be discussed immediately with a health law attorney.
